Overview
Certification of vehicle noise emissions for passenger vehicles, motorcycles and light trucks is achieved by measuring external sound levels according to procedures defined by international standards such as ECE regulations and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Racelogic provides pass-by noise (or drive-by-noise) testing equipment that logs channels such as engine RPM, vehicle velocity, and maximum vehicle exterior noise so that you can make sure you meet the accuracy requirements of the standard. The system can be installed in the vehicle for the R51, R117 and R138 test. This allows the driver to operate the measurement equipment without additional assistance.
The VBOX Test Suite software includes plugins for pass-by noise testing that facilitate development programs to be completed to the EPA, ECE R41, ECE R51, ECE R117 and ECE R138 standards, before homologation testing.
