Performance Box Touch Firmware Features - V1.3

This is not the current firmware version!

This version of the Performance Box Touch firmware includes some changes and brings additional functionality to the unit.

Many of the changes have been made as a direct result of customer feedback requesting new features. Some changes have been made to fix bugs and other issues found during testing.

Racelogic strongly recommend that all users upgrade to the latest firmware release to take advantage of the new features and benefit from the improved stability.

This update is to bring Performance Box Touch in line with the launch of VBOX Touch RTK.

  • Reworded message shown when no tracks are found in the database.
  • Speed smoothing value now 0.25 by default.
  • End of test alert now enabled by default.
  • Increased maximum satellites used to 12.

  • Logged speed now correctly drops when no valid solution is available.
  • Changing results save format now doesn’t reset manual logging override.
  • Fixed issue of flashing text on Decel results history reset.
  • Fixed jump in results issue when opening history.
  • Addressed issue of inaccurate position in files when logging straight after a coldstart.
  • Improved behaviour when setting end of test to minimum values.
  • Date format now retained through boot.
  • Fixed speed dropout at high speed issue (~225 mph and above).
  • Long term logging stability improvements.
  • Fixed issue where an on-screen Accel test could reset too early with higher levels of speed smoothing.

Performance Box Touch now supports use with a battery (RLACS290), allowing you to use the unit without connecting to a power source. The battery will provide a minimum of 6 hours of battery life, however you can increase battery life to up to 9 hours by using minimum brightness settings. The battery is connected to Performance Box Touch using the Richter mounting system on the rear of the unit. Insert the prongs from the back of the battery in to the rear of  Performance Box Touch and then push upwards to secure.

When the battery is installed and Performance Box Touch is on, a Battery Status Indicator PB Touch Battery Icon.png is displayed on the top right of the screen, providing a visual representation of the remaining battery charge.

The battery can be charged whilst installed within Performance Box Touch if the unit is being powered via a power source, or can be charged when removed from the unit using the USB port located above the Power button and the supplied USB cable (USB2-007241). The battery will take approximately 3.5 hours to charge. For fastest charge, it is recommended to charge the battery from a mains power source when disconnected from Performance Box Touch.

More information on the battery (RLACS290) can be found here.
