LED Behaviour

This page contains an overview of the different LED behaviours you may see on the front panel of the VBOX 4 Dynamics units.
LOG
LOG_LED_Blue.png Solid Blue
Indicates that the VBOX unit is logging.
LOG_LED_Green.png Solid Green
Indicates that the VBOX unit is armed and ready to log.
(If a logging condition has been set but is not yet met, for example, Log When Moving)
LOG LED_Flashing Red.gif Flashing Red
Indicates an error condition.  

If you get this error on your unit, you can try the following reset methods in the respective order:
  1. Power-cycle the unit. 
  2. Factory reset via the LOG button.
  3. Firmware reflash

If none of these options resolve your issue, contact Racelogic Support

LOG LED_Flashing Blue.gif Flashing Blue
Indicates that the VBOX 4 Firmware is being updated. 
LOG LED_Flashing Purple.gif Flashing Purple
Indicates that the unit is applying the latest settings internally and preparing for operation. 
SATS
SATS_LED_Red.png Solid Red
Indicates GNSS error.

If you get this error on your unit, you can try the following:
  • Perform a coldstart and power-cycle the unit. 

If this does not resolve your issue, contact Racelogic Support

SATS LED_Flashing Red.gif Flashing Red 
Indicates no satellites in view.
SATS LED_Flashing green sequence x4.gif Flashing Green Sequence
Indicates the number of GNSS satellites currently being tracked. Each flash indicates a satellite with a short pause between each sequence.
DUAL
LEDs_Off.png Off
Dual Antenna Mode is not enabled.
Dual_LED_Red.png Red
Indicates that dual antenna mode is enabled but does not have dual antenna lock.
DUAL_LED_Green.png Solid Green 
Indicates that the dual antenna lock is fixed.
WIFI / BT

*Dual functionality

WIFI-BT LED_Flashing slow.gif Flashing Blue (Slow)
Indicates that the VBOX unit is ready to pair or connect.
WIFI_BT_LED_Blue.png Solid Blue 
Indicates the VBOX unit has paired to a device but not connected.
WIFI-BT LED_Flashing fast.gif Flashing Blue (Fast)
Indicates that the VBOX unit has connected. 
PWR
PWR_LED_Green.png Solid Green 
Indicates that a suitable power source is connected. The unit is fully booted and ready to use.
PWR LED_flashingGreen.gif

Flashing Green
Indicates the following based on the current operation:

  • Unit is booting
  • IMU/PPS alignment in progress
  • EEPROM update
  • Firmware update
PWR_LED_Orange.png Solid Orange
Indicated that there are force defaults due to EEPROM error. 

The VBOX unit will reset to defaults during boot-up.
PWR_LED_Red.png Solid Red 
Indicates that there is an error condition.

If you get this error on your unit, you can try the following reset methods in the respective order:
  1. Power-cycle the unit. 
  2. Factory reset via the LOG button.
  3. Perform a coldstart.

If none of these options resolve your issue, contact Racelogic Support

PWR LED_HW error_flashingGreenandRed.gif Flashing Green and Red
Indicates that there is a hardware error. 

Contact Racelogic Support
DGPS
DGPS LED_Flashing Orange.gif Flashing Orange 
Indicates DGPS has been set but is not fixed.
DGPS_LED_Orange.png Solid Orange 
Indicates a RTK Float status.
DGPS_LED_Green.png Solid Green 
Indicates RTK Fix.
IMU
IMU_LED_Orange.png Solid Orange
Indicates that the IMU integration is enabled but that no IMU is detected.
IMU LED_Flashing Orange.gif

Flashing Orange 
Indicates that an IMU is connected and integration initialisation is running.

This will not be completed until the VBOX unit has had a satellite lock for 30 seconds while being stationary.

IMU LED_Flashing Green.gif Flashing Green 
Indicates that the integration initialisation is complete but that it has not detected movement yet.
IMU_LED_Green.png Solid Green 
Indicates that the IMU integration has detected movement and is working.
D IN
D IN_LED_Green.png Solid Green 
Indicates that the unit is detecting input.
