Operation

This page covers the operation of the Pit Display (RLVBPITDSP-V2).
Operation

IMPORTANT

For the Pit Display to work correctly with a Pit Lane Timer, you must make sure that the CAN baud rate is set to the same rate on both the Pit Lane Timer and the Pit Display.

When the vehicle is stationary in the pit lane, the Pit Display will automatically replicate the countdown time shown on the Pit Lane Timer. When the countdown reaches 0, the vehicle should be released. The display will be blank when it detects movement.

If there is a problem with the baud rate configuration between the two units, you will see a 'Waiting for CAN data Connect to Pit Lane Timer' message displayed.

LED Behaviour

The LED behaviour in the pit box will mirror the LED behaviour of the Pit Lane Timer.

When you come to a stop in your pit box, the Pit Lane Timer will display a countdown to when you should leave the pit box.

In the Stationary In Pit mode, the countdown time is the set Minimum Pit Time. The countdown will start as soon as the vehicle speed reaches 0.0.

When the pit timing countdown reaches 6 seconds, the LEDs will light red (one at a time) to count down the final seconds. When it is time to leave the pit box (0'00.0), the LEDs will become green.

When you reach a speed of more than 5 km/h, the display will change to show a live speed value and apply the speed limit settings as described above.
