03 - Turntable Record System

The LabSat 3 Turntable recording system can be placed on any platform and as an example we will use a passenger vehicle as the test platform.

The system comprises:

  • LabSat 3 Record Only or Record & Replay system. The LabSat 3 will record GPS, GLONASS and BeiDou signals. Use either CAN data or electronic wheel speed pulses to record the forward speed of the platform. The LabSat 3 will record and digitize the data so it can be replayed in sync with the GNSS data.

  • Video VBOX data recorder, normally 2 camera versions are used to record a video of the journey and the yaw information from the Racelogic Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU).

  • Racelogic Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) is used to collect the yaw (rate of turn) for the journey and replayed constantly. So if the GNSS signals are lost during the recording then the IMU will provide all the turn information for the Turntable during replay. This feature will replicate the functionality of lost GNSS signals in tunnels and urban canyons.
