SD Card Transfer

This page contains information about transferring files via SD Card to and from the internal SSD on LabSat 4 Replay Only variants.
Copy from Internal SSD to SD Card

You can copy files from the internal SSD to an SD Card by using the following steps:

  1. Insert the SD card into the SD Card slot on the front panel of LabSat 4.
     
  2. Use the Up arrow to navigate to the Back option on the File Selection screen.
     
  3. Press the OK button with Back highlighted to go to the Directory Selection screen.
     
  4. Use the arrow buttons to navigate to the sata directory.
     
  5. Press the OK button to select the directory and open the File Selection screen.
     
  6. Use the arrow buttons to navigate to the file you want to transfer.
     
  7. Press the OK button to open the menu.
     
  8. Highlight File and press OK to enter the File menu.
     
  9. Highlight Copy and press OK to open the Copy File menu.
     
  10. Highlight To SD and press OK to open the TO SD screen.
     
  11. Confirm if you want to copy the file to the SD card by highlighting YES and pressing OK.

    If you do not want to complete this process, highlight No and press OK to return to the Copy File menu.

Notes:

  • If a file already exists on the SD card, the display will show a "File already exists" message.
  • When you transfer files that are bigger than 4GB to an SD card formatted as FAT32, the display will show an "Unsuitable media" warning.
  • When you transfer files to an exFAT-formatted SD card without sufficient storage, the display will show a "Not enough storage" warning.
  • SD cards formatted as EXT4 are not recognised by LabSat, and so the option to copy scenarios will be unavailable.
  • Scenarios recorded on and for LabSat 3 Wideband cannot be transferred to and from the internal SSD with an SD Card.  
Copy from SD Card to Internal SSD

You can copy files from an SD Card to the internal SSD by using the following steps:

  1. Insert the SD card into the SD Card slot on the front panel of LabSat 4.
     
  2. Use the Up arrow to navigate to the Back option on the File Selection screen.
     
  3. Press the OK button with Back highlighted to go to the Directory Selection screen.
     
  4. Use the arrow buttons to navigate to the sd directory.
     
  5. Press the OK button to select the directory and open the File Selection screen.
     
  6. Use the arrow buttons to navigate to the file you want to transfer.
     
  7. Press OK with the file highlighted to enter the File menu.
     
  8. Use the arrow buttons to navigate to Copy and press OK to open the Copy File menu.
     
  9. Highlight To SATA and press OK to open the TO SATA screen.
     
  10. Confirm if you want to copy the file to the internal SSD by highlighting YES and pressing OK.

    If you do not want to complete this process, highlight No and press OK to return to the Copy File menu.
