03 - SatGen Output Formats

SatGen V3 has the ability to output the defined scenario in the six following formats:

  • LabSat: When the user selects this output format a .bin file will be generated by the software. This file is compatible for replay with the Racelogic LabSat (LabSat 1) hardware variant. This file type only ever contains 1 bit IF data for GPS.

  • LabSat 2: When the user selects this output format a .ls2 file will be generated by the software. This file is compatible for replay with the Racelogic LabSat 2 hardware variant. This file type consists of data in I&Q format.

  • LabSat 3: When the user selects this output format a .ls3 file will be generated by the software. This file is compatible for replay with the Racelogic LabSat 3 hardware variant. This file type consists of data in I&Q format. LabSat 3 scenarios are generated as a folder containing a number of .ls3 files, each of 2 GB or less.

  • LabSat 3 Wideband: When the user selects this output format a .LS3W & .ini file will be generated by the software. These files are compatible for replay with the Racelogic LabSat 3 Wideband hardware variant. This file type consists of data in I&Q format. For this output format both the .LS3W & .ini files must be copied to the LabSat SSD.

  • NMEA File: When this output format is selected a .txt file will be generated. This file contains all the scenario details in a NMEA string, this file if required can also be loaded back into SatGen to be regenerated in an alternate format.

  • Real Time – Current Time: When this output format is selected the defined scenario will be output as a digital stream to the connected LabSat RT device. The LabSat RT will then up convert the stream to an analogue stream with less than one second latency and output an RF signal with the current time and date.

  • Real Time – User time: When this output format is selected the defined scenario will be output as a digital stream to the connected LabSat RT device. The LabSat RT will then up convert the stream to an analogue stream and output an RF signal with the user’s defined time and date.
