Tab on Startup:

You can select the tab you want the software to open when you run it: Configuration, Deployment, FW Upgrade, Monitoring or Faults.

Click the dropdown arrow to see the available tabs and click on a tab to select it.

Auto-Refresh

Tick this box to enable the software to refresh automatically.

If this box is not ticked, you will have to click on the Refresh button every time you want to refresh the software and update the contents.

There is a Refresh button in the top right corner on all the tabs in the software (except the Configuration tab).

Auto-Refresh Interval (s)

This setting will only be available when the Auto-Refresh setting has been enabled.

You can set a specific time interval for the software to refresh. It will be set to 15 seconds by default.

The more frequent these updates are the more data traffic will occur, which can affect the stability. We recommend that you use minimum 10 seconds.

You can use the arrow buttons next to the field to increase/decrease the time or you can type it directly into the field.

Configuration

The Configuration settings apply to the master configuration location and data storage. The default master configuration location is the computer you are currently working and the default data storage location is set as a TunnelSat directory on the loacal computer.

PC Name:

If you want to change the master configuration location to a different computer, you can enter the friendly name or IP address to the new master configuration location in this field.

Data Path:

If you want to change the directory used for the master configuration data storage, enter the path to the new directory in this field.

Monitoring

The Monitoring settings apply to the Monitoring Service(s) that is performing the status monitoring of the TunnelSat system. These settings will need to be deployed to take effect. They are, therefore, only available to edit in the Settings on the Configuration tab.

Filter

You can filter the faults by status. The available filters will depend on the statuses on the raised faults.

Click on a status to display the existing faults that are currently in that status.

Clear All Resolved

Faults

The faults overview pane will display a tile for each fault that has been raised by the Monitoring Service.

The fault tiles contain the following information:

TunnelSatSetupAndMonitoring_Faults_Red.svg TunnelSatSetupAndMonitoring_Faults_Green.svg
Colour

The fault tiles will have different colours depending on the current status:

  • Green = Resolved
  • Blue = Resolution in progress
  • Yellow = Fault detected
  • Red = Requires manual action*

*Requires manual action means that the personnel responsible for the system must investigate and resolve the fault manually as the Monitoring Service was unable to resolve it by following the set troubleshooting flow.

Fault Type

The tile will display the fault type in the top left corner as a title.

Status

The status bar in the top right corner will display the current status of the fault:

  • Resolved - The system was able to resolve the fault in its automated troubleshooting process.
  • Detected - A fault has been detected but the system has not yet tried to resolve it.
  • Resolution in progress  - The system is currently working through its automated troubleshooting process to resolve the fault.
  • Required manual action - The system was unable to resolve the fault and is requesting manual action by the system owner.
Affected Positions

This area will tell you how many positions was affected by this fault and will display the position number of all the affected positions.

For example:

TunnelSatSetupAndMonitoring_Faults_TileExample.svg

2 positions have been affected by this fault: Position Number 3 and Position Number 4.

If there are more positions affected than there is space on the tile, you can click on the position numbers to view the full list of affected positions.

Fault History

Under the title, the fault tile will display the date and time that the fault was detected and the date and time it was last updated.

If the fault has occurred more than once since the history was cleared or the Monitoring Service restarted, the tile will display the number of times it has occurred. (For example, x2 or x10)

You can view the full fault history by clicking on the button with the fault summary at the bottom of the tile.

Clear Fault

The fault tile will remain in the Faults tab until it is manually removed. You can only clear faults that have been resolved or that has been flagged as requiring manual action.

Click the bin icon in the bottom right corner of the tile to clear the fault.
