ADAS Dooring - Door Open Trigger Switch

Precision Door Open Detection for Automotive Testing.

The Racelogic Door Open Trigger Switch (RLACS345) is a compact, highly responsive sensor designed for detecting vehicle door opening status with precision and reliability. Ideal for automotive testing and validation environments, it offers a non-invasive way to log door open/close events in real time.

It is used within the VBOX Dooring solution, integrating seamlessly with VBOX or third-party data loggers. It provides clear, definitive signals when a vehicle door is opened during consumer and development testing.

Features
  • Simple Integration
Easily installed between the vehicle door and body – no permanent modifications required.

  • Digital Output
Integrated in-line resistors allow the sensor to output a clear 0 V or supply voltage* signal when active/inactive for straightforward digital logging.
*Amplitude of the supply voltage will determine the ‘on’ state voltage.

  • Robust & Flexible Design
The slim, flexible form factor allows it to conform to a range of door seals and geometries.

  • Real-Time Feedback
Provides instant status output when used in combination with VBOX Test suite.

  • Versatile Application
Can be used to detect not only door status, but also bonnet, boot or other panel movement.

VBOX 4 ADAS
  1. Wire the black wire to the ground pin (15).
  2. Wire the red wire to the power pin (9).
  3. Wire the yellow wire to a positive pin in an available Isolated Channel pair.
  4. Wire the blue wire to a negative pin in an available Isolated Channel pair.

In this example, we are using channel 4 for the signal wires.

You can find the pin information for the Analogue Input connector on VBOX 4 here.

Note: Take note of the channel you are connecting the signal wires to, as you will need to configure this channel in the Channel Setup menu in the VBOX Setup software when you connect the sensor to the VBOX.
