4.5 Voice Tagging - VBOX 3i Single Antenna

VBOX 3i units have the ability to record audio tags synched with a set GNSS timestamp (with an accuracy of 0.5 seconds), along with the .VBB data file. You can record voice notes regarding test conditions or erroneous runs, which can be replayed simultaneously when you are viewing logged files in the VBOX Test Suite software.

You will see a .wav file recorded onto the CF card along with the normal VBOX data file.

The supplied headset/microphone includes a switch, which you can use to start and stop the recording of an audio tag.

Recording a Sound WAV
  1. Press the headset switch once. You will hear a beep through the headset confirming that the recording of the .wav file has begun.
  2. Press the switch again to stop recording. A second beep through the headset confirms that the recording has stopped.

Note: If the switch has been pressed once to start the recording the VBOX unit will record for 30 seconds and then automatically stop recording.

Replaying Voice Tags in VBOX Test Suite

When you load a logged VBOX data file (.vbb) into VBOX Test Suite and displayed it in the Chart Screen, any associated .wav audio voice tag files will appear below the speed data trace as speaker icons and a vertical line will indicate the exact location where the recording started.

You can play the audio files by clicking on the speaker icons. The icon will animate to indicate that the audio file is being played.
