The RLACS314 brake temperature sensors have been specifically designed for use with the Brake Temperature Monitoring System App on VBOX Touch to measure, log and display the surface temperature of a brake disc, providing invaluable information to the driver during testing. Each sensor can measure up to 16 temperature points on an object with surface temperatures ranging from -20°C to 950°C.
Install the infrared temperature sensors and wiring loom on to your vehicle, making sure the sensors are positioned directly opposite and across each brake disc's surface
Two 3.2 mm holes are available on either side of each sensor for securely mounting them to the chassis. Alternatively, 3M Dual Lock can be used, however it is advisable to tether them to the chassis as well.
Be aware of the order in which the 16 infrared beams are arranged when mounting the sensors, shown in the image below (note the orientation of the sensor in the diagram). This is important when selecting the Orientation of the sensors within the Sensor Settings menu.
You must ensure that the infrared beams cover appropriate spots along the radial axis of the brake disc as per the image below.
After the installation is complete, ensure to plug the Lemo connector from the infrared Brake Temperature Monitoring loom in to a 'CAN / SERIAL' socket on the side of the VBOX Touch display.
