This page covers the FW Upgrade tab in the TunnelSat Setup and Monitoring software.
This tab is where you can upgrade the TunnelSat firmware for the TunnelSat units in your system.

Refresh

Click the refresh button to manually start a refresh of the software and update the information. |
Settings

Click on the Settings button in the top right corner to open and edit the software settings. |

The General settings cover the startup tab and the auto-refresh settings.

Tab on Startup:
You can select the tab you want the software to open when you run it: Configuration, Deployment, FW Upgrade, Monitoring or Faults.
Click the dropdown arrow to see the available tabs and click on a tab to select it.
Auto-Refresh
Tick this box to enable the software to refresh automatically.
If this box is not ticked, you will have to click on the Refresh button every time you want to refresh the software and update the contents.
There is a Refresh button in the top right corner on all the tabs in the software (except the Configuration tab).
Auto-Refresh Interval (s)
This setting will only be available when the Auto-Refresh setting has been enabled.
You can set a specific time interval for the software to refresh. It will be set to 15 seconds by default.
The more frequent these updates are the more data traffic will occur, which can affect the stability. We recommend that you use minimum 10 seconds.
You can use the arrow buttons next to the field to increase/decrease the time or you can type it directly into the field.

- ►Configuration

The Configuration settings apply to the master configuration location and data storage. The default master configuration location is the computer you are currently working and the default data storage location is set as a TunnelSat directory on the loacal computer.

PC Name:
If you want to change the master configuration location to a different computer, you can enter the friendly name or IP address to the new master configuration location in this field.
Data Path:
If you want to change the directory used for the master configuration data storage, enter the path to the new directory in this field.
- ►Monitoring

The Monitoring settings apply to the Monitoring Service(s) that is performing the status monitoring of the TunnelSat system. These settings will need to be deployed to take effect. They are, therefore, only available to edit in the Settings on the Configuration tab.
Browse
Click the Browse button to open File Explorer and navigate to the firmware file you want to use for the upgrade.
When you have selected a file to load, you can see the directory path for the upgrade file displayed to the right of the Browse button.
Equipment Rooms
This table will provide you with a list of the configured equipment rooms in your system. When you start the upgrade process, the Firmware Control Service that performs the upgrade will upgrade all the TunnelSat units in the selected equipment room(s).
The table will display the name of the equipment room, the relevant deployment path for the room and the version of the firmware currently installed on the TunnelSat units in the room.
Tick the box(es) for the equipment room(s) you want to upgrade the TunnelSat firmware in to select it.
Note: The firmware update service(s) must be deployed and running in each equipment room before the firmware update process can run. |
Upgrade
Click the Upgrade button to start the upgrade process.
WARNING
Upgrading the firmware will make the TunnelSat units to go offline for approximately 2 minutes while the new firmware is being installed and for the upgrade to be completed.
This will cause a loss in GPS output for the duration of the installation process.
