06 Digital Input
The cable loom (RLCAB163) is compatible with the following digital input devices:
- RLVBACS004 brake pedal mounted trigger
- RLVBACS009 handheld brake trigger (ideal to set gates when in track marker mode)
Configuration
You can configure the digital input as either a Track Marker or a Brake Trigger via the VBOX Setup Software or on the Front Panel of the unit.
Set a Start/Finish Line
Select Track Marker as your Digital input. Press and immediately release the Lap input switch as you cross the start/finish line. You must be moving >5 km/h to do this and follow the normal line along the track. The VBOX unit notes the point and direction of travel, then creates a virtual line perpendicular to your line of travel 25 m wide.
Set a Separate Finish Line
Select Track Marker as your Digital input. Press and hold the switch for >5 seconds before releasing as you cross the finish line. You must be moving >5 km/h to do this and follow the normal line along the track. The VBOX unit notes the point and direction of travel, then creates a virtual line perpendicular to your line of travel 25 m wide.
Set a Split Line
Select Track Marker as your Digital input. Double-press the input switch twice within a very short period. You must be moving >5 km/h to do this and follow the normal line along the track. The VBOX unit notes the point and direction of travel, then creates a virtual line perpendicular to your line of travel 25 m wide.
Clear All Virtual Lines
Select Track Marker as your Digital input. Give the input switch a short press followed by a longer button press (>1.5 seconds). In each case, the VBOX unit will recognise the lead edge of the first pulse as the activation in order to set the associated virtual line at the exact point that the user first presses the switch.
Connector Pin Information
If you are not using the RLCAB163, the following pin information is applicable to Digital Input on the VBOX unit.
Pin 11 is the Digital Input pin. This pin should be connected to one side of a momentary switch and the other side of the switch should be connected to Pin 20, a Ground pin. This means that when the switch is pressed, the Digital Input pin will be shorted to ground.
