This guide explains how to mount, connect, and use MFD Touch with a compatible VBOX system.
Mount the unit securely using the supplied suction mount.
Position the display so it’s clearly visible during use.
For permanent installations, use the rear ¼-20 UNC thread.
Use the supplied RLCAB005-C cable to connect MFD Touch to your VBOX unit.
- Connect to the bottom CAN port on the MFD Touch
- Connect the other end to the appropriate port on the VBOX unit.
If you are using a CAN Hub, connect MFD Touch to the MFD port.
MFD Touch is powered through the VBOX connection.
When the system powers on:
- A splash screen appears while the unit boots
- “Waiting for VBOX” is displayed while the VBOX unit is starting.
- Live data appears on the screen when the VBOX unit is ready.
Insert a FAT32-formatted SD card into the left side of the display.
This SD card is used for:
- Store display settings
- Save test results (where supported)
The system is ready when:
- Live data is visible on the display
- Values are updating in real time
- No “Waiting for VBOX” message is shown
For reliable operation, ensure:
- GNSS has a valid lock
- An SD card is inserted
- The system has fully booted
Logging is done by the connected VBOX unit.
- MFD Touch displays the logging status
- You can start or stop logging from the display (where supported)
- Logged data is saved to the VBOX storage media, not the MFD Touch
IMPORTANT
Do not remove the storage media from the VBOX unit while it is logging.
This may cause data loss or file corruption.
Always stop logging before you remove the storage media.
Once set up, MFD Touch will:
- Display live data from the VBOX system
- Allow you to switch between display screens
- Show logging status and system information
